The Nara Restaurant in Thong-Lor is well-known for its Kuay Tiew Rua and also its hot shrimp paste dip which is excellent with the deep fried Mackerel which comes with steamed vegetables. You can also finish this off with some coconut ice-cream which is also very popular.
