Brown Sugar Jazz Club

The Brown Sugar Jazz Club is another excellent jazz club in Thailand which is well known and provides good jazz music with excellent food. The club has been around since 1985 and is well known for its live performances. The Brown Sugar Club has been ranked as “one of the best bars of the world” by Newsweek (1997). With such a reputation you known it is good.

The club has moved from its old location on Sarasin Rd. to Phrasumen Rd and is now much bigger. The club is now called the “Brown Sugar : The JazzBoutique” and is always open. During the day it is used as a restaurant and coffee house and at nightfall it transforms in a Jazz club with ice cold beers and great music 7 days of the week. The club. The club has a 200-seater space on the second floor where there is also space for a small exhibition, film screening, plays and also poetry reading.

Note that every last Friday and Saturday of the month they hold a “Brown Sugar Showcase” which showcases live performances of touring acts both local and international. Note that the club is close to Democracy Monument however the closest station is far away. You need to take the MRT or subway to the MRT Hua Lamphong Station and take a short taxi trip from there.
