The Royal Oak

Bangkok NightlifeThe Royal Oak is another great bar/restaurant located close to the BTS Phrom Phong Station which is also very well-known in the area. The Royal Oak offers a good selection of imported beers with good outdoor seating. They have a ladies night every Thursday from 8PM. The Ladies drink can be either Chang draft, Mojitos or Vodka and a mixer for free.

The food is good such as the bruschettaspumpkin soup. Its a British style pub which opened in 2011. There is also live music with at Quiz with Quiz with Dan & Yai on Wednesdays or their monthly Last Friday Disco’s with DJ Bill. Its a good place to sit back and have a beer with a great location not far from the BTS.  The bar is very popular with expats and locals so go early to get good seating.

When I visited The Royal Oak a couple of days ago, there weren’t many customers. However, the establishment appeared neat, organized, and clean. The attendants, dressed in the same uniform, were exceptionally friendly and fluent in English. The entrance is open, providing those seated inside with a view of the street. Additionally, there was background music playing at just the right volume, allowing for easy conversation without the need to shout. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the prices were reasonable. I was impressed with practically everything about this place—the atmosphere, service, music, and design, among other aspects.

Breakfast

During my breakfast visit, I ordered the full English breakfast, which turned out to be enormous and incredibly delicious. The sausages were of excellent quality, and the back bacon was equally impressive. I particularly enjoyed the black pudding. Not only was the food fantastic, but it also offered great value for money.

I learned that The Royal Oak also serves a full roast during the weekend, and I’m already considering going back to try it soon. I had the opportunity to try their Sunday Roast, and I found it to be quite good.
