Benjasiri Park

The Benjasiri Park located in central Bangkok was created in order to celebrate the 60th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. Entry in to the park is free from 5am – 8pm. It has a very relaxed environment which includes sculptures, including HM’s commemorative coin. It is located close to The Emporium on Sukhumvit between Soi 22 and 24 and next to the BTS Phrom Phong station which makes it very convenient if you wish to step out of Bangkok’s rat race.

Environment

The park boasts a pleasant and pristine environment, making it an ideal haven for outdoor activities. Many individuals engage in jogging along the perimeter, and interestingly, a larger crowd tends to gather during the evening and into the night, which could be attributed to the more agreeable temperatures as opposed to the daytime heat. Notably, the park features two playgrounds and various outdoor exercise equipment, all of which appear to be meticulously maintained and fully operational. This green oasis within the urban landscape provides a welcome escape. Likewise also see the Queen Sirikit Park as well as the Lumphini Park.

During our stay at the Marriott, my family and I made it a daily ritual to venture down to the park. The children found immense enjoyment in the experience.

Playgrounds

The availability of two playgrounds provides ample entertainment for children. The equipment’s impeccable condition is evident, offering a safe and engaging space. Additionally, the park accommodates basketball courts and a compact skate park, catering to varied interests. Conveniently situated near the kiosks, restrooms are readily accessible to visitors. As for pet-friendliness, it’s crucial to note that only service dogs are permitted within the premises, while other pets are not allowed. Likewise there is also the Emporium Mall next to the park.

A recurring sight is individuals laying down blankets beneath the shelter of trees for picnics or a leisurely nap. This informal setup further enhances the park’s allure, as illustrated in the pictures. The well-maintained gardens and lush greenery collectively cultivate an atmosphere of serenity, an ambiance that immediately drew me in. The paths are adorned with vibrant flowers, towering trees, and pristinely tended lawns, culminating in an enchanting landscape. It’s a true sanctuary for those who cherish nature, offering a rejuvenating escape right in the heart of Bangkok.
